Just because we’re parents doesn’t mean we don’t still enjoy a great dining experience. We put together a list of our favorite kid-friendly Dallas restaurants where children can feast, you can feel a little less uncool and families can feel comfortable. Watch our list grow! The more we dine and love the experience, the more restaurants we’ll add for you to enjoy.

Start Restaurant, Greenville
Start Restaurant, Greenville ($)
We call this no-guilt dining. Veggie pancakes, salmon dishes and grass-fed burgers are just a few of the appetizing items off the regular and kids menu. What do we also love? The drive-thru. It’s not fast food. It’s fresh food.
Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar, Plano ($$$)
If you follow us on Twitter, you know that this tasty venue is a popular destination for our family. The menu boasts fresh, succulent items from thai BBQ duck wings (our son loves them) to pork brisket. If you’re craving a cool, adult beverage this restaurants bar menu is just as diverse and delicious. P.S. Don’t forget to order the whiskey cake for dessert. For families who want to stay out of the limelight, Whiskey Cake’s overflow room off the bar is great when you want to feel a part of the great vibe here but you’re not dead smack in the room when the little one throws a tantrum.
Bananas Foster at 5th Street Patio Cafe, Frisco
5th Street Patio Cafe, Frisco ($)
Have you ever dined at a restaurant where every dish is so good, you can’t go wrong? That’s 5th Street Patio Cafe. It’s small in size but makes up for it in flavor. If you love breakfast, we highly recommend the bananas foster french toast. Ordering breakfast for the kiddos? We suggest they share the kids pancake platter which comes with three large cakes topped by a strawberry. Parents take note, this venue requests you order first then self seat and the line can be out the door (for good reason).
Village Burger, Dallas ($)
Where’s the beef? It’s a Village Burger, a bar of deliciously prepared juicy burgers, sides and sweets.
Mutt’s Cantina, Dallas ($)
Who doesn’t love a restaurant that’s both family and Fido-friendly? This outdoor hot dog stand and shake shack offers a range of quick bites and is just minutes away from the dog park so don’t forget your furry friend. Don’t forget to try one of their craft beers, too.
3 Stacks Smoke and Stacks House ($$)
You and the kids will be licking your fingers dry after you’ve tried the ribs at this Frisco restaurant. Smoked just right with a generous amount of their famous BBQ sauce, this is a local favorite for obvious reasons. Don’t forget to grab a bottle of their BBQ sauce on your way out.
Frost It Cafe, Frisco ($)
A mix of bakery and cafe, this sweet venue is located near Stonebriar Centre and features fresh, cold salads and sandwiches. The portions are large and more than filling. Kids menu items range from PB&J to grilled cheese and fish crackers. The dessert is to die for. Try to grab yourself a soft, fresh cookie before you go.
Blue Fish Grill, Allen ($$)
If you love sushi, head to Blue Fish Grill. The menu is catered toward adults but ask for a kid box and the kiddos will get a sashimi meal with veggies. Not for the picky kid in your crew, however so be prepared to be flexible.
Estilo Gaucho Brazilian Restaurant ($$$)
What’s not to love about meat being served every few minutes straight to your table? This Brazilian steakhouse located just steps away from Stonebriar Center offers a full, impressive salad bar in addition to its renown cuts of prime meat. While it boasts elegant dining, you won’t feel like an outcast if you bring the kids along.
Sauce on the Square, McKinney ($$)
There’s a reason this restaurant is our family’s favorite. The brick oven pizza for starters is a must-have. However, the rest of their menu shouldn’t be ignored. The kid’s menu is packed with pasta, pizza and other options, plus a drink and scoop of delicious ice cream but we doubt they’ll have room.
Henry’s Ice Cream, Plano
Snow Cone Lady, Frisco ($)
She’s famous for a reason and no one comes close to her delicious snow cones. Be prepared for long lines but grab a bench and enjoy her flavorful snow cones on a hot day. See her full menu on our site and look for the red trailer. If you see Babe’s Chicken, you’re getting close.
Henry’s Ice Cream, Plano ($)
You haven’t tasted really good ice cream until you’ve had Henry’s. The vanilla flavor is our favorite!
Cherry Berry ($)
Located in McKinney, it’s worth the drive. Sweet, creamy yogurt and every topping under the sun greets you. You may by weight but you’ll be far too greedy to care. The kid-seating, movies, and ample seating are equally inviting. Bring the kids and your sweet tooth.
