Get romantic Dallas staycation ideas.
What inspired this post? It’s simple. We’re busy parents, with calendars that span office meetings and home appointments. We are committed to coparenting so we’re still actively involved in our kids’ schools, athletics, and more. We’re also best friends and partners — and want to stay that way.
Since our blissful anniversary at Hilton Anatole in Dallas, we made another commitment to one other (this time without witnesses and an expensive reception). We promised we would spend a weekend with only each other, focusing entirely on each other, without conversations about work, errands that need checking off, housework, and even limit the conversation regarding what cute thing the kids did or what the teacher shared with us last week. Instead, we would focus simply on each other. Our well-being, our happiness, and the health of our marriage.
With that commitment in our mind and our heart, we sought a hotel in and around Dallas to act as the perfect romantic background to our weekend. Take a look at just some of the romantic getaways in our backyard. Whether you’re seeking a high-end accommodations or want to book a hidden jewel boutique hotel, we have plenty of Dallas hotel weekend staycations or escapes to share with you.
If You Enjoy the Nightlife
W Dallas – Victory
2440 Victory Park Ln, Dallas, TX 75219
W Dallas is a hot spot for those who want to be seen as well as people watch. Located steps away from American Airlines Arena, the hotel is the likely destination for the after-party following a Mavs game or concert. Everyone from local yokels to tourists flow through the downstairs bar and lounge with an outdoor patio where you can park yourself for hours if the weather is just right. Inside, the DJ remixes pop and R&B hits spanning the 80s to present. Without a true dance floor, your partner won’t be spinning you around but this won’t stop people from trying to create one. This makes it all the more interesting since the lounge isn’t that big to begin with, but should you decide you want to sit it out, seats aren’t hard to come by. Head upstairs to a modern guest room or suite in the early morning. Rooms are comfortably sized, modern in true W fashion and serve room service for those who enjoy late night noms. Aim for a high floor to maximize your view of the Dallas skyline.

Tips to Make Your Stay Extra Sweet
Apply Points to Your Stay
Even if you don’t travel often, every bit helps. Create a members account with the hotel, often part of larger global chains and apply those rewards to your stay. If you or your partner travel for business, learn if you can take advantage of those earned points.
Talk to a Real Person
When making the reservation, call the hotel and talk to a real person. If it’s your first stay, let them know. They want you to return again and again and may go the extra mile if they know they’ll be your getaway destination every month or quarter.
You’ve checked in but before you get the small room next to the hotel with a view of the parking lot, ask if the hotel has any upgrades available. If the hotel isn’t crowded and if they know you may potentially return again, personnel may treat you to a room with a larger floorplan and a spectacular view worth double what you paid.
